Founded in 1978, CKS River Supply is a brick and mortar retail store located in Buena Vista, CO. We have no online presence and serve our customers face-to-face. We staff our store with experts who can serve as a resource and friend for all your paddling inquiries. Our store is home to the largest selection of Kayaks and whitewater gear in the Western United States.

A family-owned business, CKS River Supply is owned and operated by Brad and Megan Kingman. Brad and Megan set their humble roots in the Arkansas Valley as raft guides, and after working every odd job in the book, eventually became the owners of the iconic CKS store in 2016. They have recently traded in questionably dangerous rafting, kayaking and SUP adventures for family rafting and share their love for the river with their two young boys, Parker and Carson. The Kingmans spend as much time as they can getting their family outside.

CKS HISTORY (in a nutshell)

1978 : founded in Nathrop, CO by Jim Stohlquist

1999 : Merged with Summit Kayak and continued business in Nathrop, CO under the ownership of Cheryl and Earl Richmond

2004 : Moved to Main Street Buena Vista, CO

2015: CKS River Supply on Main Street Buena Vista and CKS Online became two separate businesses

2016 : Brad and Megan Kingman became the proud owners of CKS River Supply

2024 : CKS River Supply MOVED! To our new purpose-built location, one block East on Main Street Buena Vista of the historic CKS building.
